About the Project

Wonder Book sells new and used books out of 3 retail locations. They also sell books in bulk via their unique "books by the foot" service supplying interior decorators, hotels, law firms and retail chains across America. They needed a solution that would accommodate 1 million or more products, with searching speed and functionality being a major concern.

Solutions / Results:

Custom built SQL queries to speed up searching and displaying products
Dynamically changing almost every piece of content on the homepage to help keep the site fresh
Several client editable areas (i.e. quotes, author column, coupons)
Customized advanced searching utilizing SQL full text search capabilites to narrow results
Added cross selling features like books by the same author and other books matching the previous search
"Best Sellers" and "New Arrival" sections that dynamically display the appropriate set of books according to import dates and sales
